The American Red Cross Advanced Life Support (ALS) course provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to assess, recognize, and care for patients who are experiencing a cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, or respiratory emergency. The course emphasizes providing high-quality patient care by integrating psychomotor skills, rhythm interpretation, electrical interventionsand pharmacologic knowledge with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The Advanced Life Support program is available in two formats: classroom (instructor-led) and blended learning, featuring adaptive learning functionality

COURSE LENGTH
INSTRUCTOR LED: 10 HOURS, 15 MINUTES
BLENDED LEARNING: APPROX. 3.5 HOURS ONLINE; 3 - 4.5 HOURS IN PERSON
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (ALS) COURSE, CANDIDATE MUST:
Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.
Demonstrate competency in all required skills.
Demonstrate competency in leading a team response during the team response testing scenarios.
Successfully pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 84%.
