The primary purpose of the courses in the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers program trains participants with the knowledge and skills needed to: ▪ Provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children, and infants until advanced emergency medical services (EMS) professionals take over.
PREREQUISITES
Must possess a valid basic-level certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent
COURSE LENGTH
INSTRUCTOR LED: 3 HOURS, 30 MINUTES
BLENDED LEARNING: APPROX. 1 HOURS, 15 MINUTES ONLINE; 3 HOURS IN PERSON
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
COURSE MATERIALS
TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE CPR FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER (CPRO) COURSE, CANDIDATE MUST:
Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.
Demonstrate competency in all required skills.
Demonstrate competency in leading a team response during the team response testing scenarios.
Successfully pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 80%.
